Old Fullerton Station is an original Victorian railway station, built in 1854, to
serve the ‘Sprat and Winkle’ line which ran between Andover and Romsey
in Hampshire. Now sympathetically converted to a wonderful
character home retaining many of the old features of the station.
These include a covered platform, ticket office and a waiting room with
a marble fireplace - which was specially installed when Queen
Victoria stopped at the station enroute to visit Benjamin Disraeli at
nearby Chilbolton. Nestling in the beautiful Hampshire Test
Valley, Old Fullerton Station is a delightful place to stay. The
house is reached down a short track off the Andover/Stockbridge road
and stands in over an acre of magical gardens with herbaceous borders,
lawns and an orchard. Round the corner, the famous chalk
trout rivers of the Hampshire Anton and Test Rivers, slip peacefully by. The Station is within easy reach of Stockbridge, Andover and Winchester in the beautiful county of Hampshire.
